Publish Children's Book

When you first written your children’s book the next step would be having it published of course.  Just like mainstream book publishing, there is a lot of competition on publish children’s book. So you need to offer something creative and unique to publishing companies that other authors haven’t been able to come up with things.

Chances are you have millions of ideas in that little brain of yours, but only a few of them are going to attract a publisher. Publishing is a business and any business needs to pay close attention to what sells so you need to make a few decisions before you sit down.

You need to consider the following if you want to get it published:

Proofreading your manuscript and be certain that there are no errors on the final manuscript. Have someone proofread your final work aside from yourself because id having several people proofread it may be more beneficial

Make sure the page layout and your pages are double spaced with a one inch margin. Each page should not only have the page number but also the title of the book and dont ever forget your name.

Once you have your manuscript perfected all you need is to print out several copies that will be sent to publishers.

Research some available publishers and spend some time researching the available publishers as what I have said.  Plan to contact only the ones who publish children’s books and a publisher. This can prove to be frustrating as the publishing market is inundated and the best thing is to do your homework and know about the publishers you are sending your work to.

Write a cover letter and write a compelling cover letter as to why they should consider your book apart from the others. The first impression is a must, so make it good.

Send out your manuscript once you have done your homework. Just send out your book to publishers who has potentials. For first time it is best to stick to smaller publishing houses with each manuscript that you send just make sure you follow each publisher’s requirements. Send your manuscript to publisher and making sure that you address the envelope according to the guidelines.

Keep a record to which publishers you have written with all the information. After several months since you sent the original manuscript, you can write a brief and polite letter informing them you sent a manuscript. In order to make correspondence easier, include your addressed.

Now the last part is the waiting part. Publishers get thousands of manuscripts every day from known and unknown authors so be patient if you do not hear anything at first about your publish children’s book.
